A/W EDIT. BOOTS

The hunt for the perfect Winter Coat & Boots has begun so I thought I would share with you an edit of the boots I am loving at the moment!

There is a common pattern emerging...most of these...correction, ALL of these boots have heels. For me personally I am not a big fan of wearing flat boots unless they are over the knee or knee high. The reason being I feel they make my legs look too short so when buying an ankle boot I always go for a heel even if it is little to elongate my legs.

This season I am definitely going to buy the Over the Knee Taupe Suede Boots from Public Desire, I love them!! I think they will be so versatile with jeans, dresses, for day or night, you get the idea!! I am also going to invest in a new pair of heeled ankle boots, I just still can't decide which ones....

Which do you think? And what do you think to this edit/post? Comment below or tweet me!

LOVING LACE UP

Top // MISS GUIDED
Jeans // ZARA
Bag // DEPOP (alternative from NET-A-PORTER or HERE)
Shoes // TOPSHOP

You probably already know this but one of the key trends this summer was lace up! It was seen on tops, dresses, shoes, even the outside legs of jeans saw the eyelet & lace up detail. This trend sees no sign of stopping for winter so I thought this was a great transitional piece that will take me between summer & winter whilst still incorporating the lace up trend.

As we have not quite reached freezing temperatures yet I choose to style this blouse with  blue jeans & the Topshop 'Nugget' sandals (again note the lace up trend!). However as the months get colder I will be teaming it with a chunky cardigan, black jeans & ankle or knee high boots. This top would also be great for night with leather trousers, heels & a clutch bag.

Finally, look at the bag!! I would love to say it is the real Chloe Drew, unfortunately not but it is a very good replica style that I found on Depop. I have included links above for the real thing & a great looking copy incase the real Drew is a little out of budget like it was for me!

What do you think to this outfit? How would you style this top? Comment below or send
me a tweet, I would love to hear from you.

WISHLIST. ZARA

Welcome to September! Now most people would be sad to see this pop up on their Twitter feeds or written over a Autumnal Instagram illustration. Not me! Now it is the start of September I am getting more and more excited about winter.

It is not just the cosy nights in front of the fire, bubble baths and Christmas I am looking forward to but like any one obsessed with fashion it is the wardrobe overhaul that has me most excited. Ankle boots, snuggly coats, wooly scarves the list goes on and on. So I thought I would start the month with a wish list of the items I have my eye on to kick start my A/W wardrobe.

My intention for this post was to create a wish list of items from a variety of brands but as I went through my must haves for this month I began to notice a pattern! The majority was made up of goodies from Zara so I have decided to dedicate this post to them. When shopping for a new season I find Zara is a great place to start. Their classic pieces create a great foundation that can be added to as the season goes on.

So here are my favourite Zara picks at the moment. The chunky knit jacket is the first on my to buy list closely followed by the heeled boots and the cashmere poncho!!

I would love to hear what you are you buying for A/W and what you think to my wishlist? Comment below or tweet me!

REAL TECHNIQUES. BOLD METALS

A few weeks ago I came across Gemma London Life's twitter competition to win the Real Techniques Bold Metals eyeshadow brushes. This collection of brushes has been on my wish list for months so I couldn't resist entering. Now, I never win anything so it came as a shock to me when I got a message from the lovely Gemma of This London Life to say I had won!!!! The three brushes sent to me from Real Techniques were the 200 Oval Shadow, 201 Pointed Crease & the 202 Angled Liner brush shown below. I am not a beauty expert or professional but I thought I would share my thoughts with you.

200 Oval Shadow
The oval shadow brush is for all over lid application/blending of cream & powder shadows. I love this brush as it is super soft and creates a soft, blended finish perfect for base shadow application. As with all the Real Techniques Bold Metal brushes the handles are weighted to allow them to sit perfectly balanced in your hand, I do find that this makes them easier to control. All the brushes in this collection have pale coloured bristles making them look unusual & luxurious, I also find them practical. It is easy to see how much product you have on the brush & when cleansing the brushes (I use MAC Brush Cleanser) I find it easier to see when they are clean compared to other darker bristle brushes.

201 Pointed Crease
This is a densely packed brush designed to apply shadow & a smoky eye to the eye lid crease. My first impression of this brush was it must be too large to be a crease brush & I was convinced I would get the eyeshadow all over my lid however I couldn't have been more wrong. This is a fantastic brush & a must have if you want to create a professional eyeshadow look. Just load the brush with a darker shade to your base colour & apply to the outer corner of your eye & crease. The application of this brush is perfect, the bristles are cut into a point which does the blending for you. This is a great brush to build your eyeshadow up to create an easy, quick smoky eye.

202 Angled Liner
The 202 is a small firm slanted brush designed to apply shadows close to the lash line. It is a perfect brush for me as I don't really wear liquid/gel liner, I find it too heavy on my eyes however I do want a stronger shade near my lash line & under my bottom lashes. This is perfect for applying more intense, darker shadows to the lash line because of its small, slanted shape it creates a precise line. The angled liner brush can also be used with gel eyeliner or as a brow brush so it is a great versatile brush to have in your makeup kit.

The Bold Metals collection is fantastic, great luxurious brushes at a realistic price. They are so easy to use giving a flawless application. There are more brushes in the collection including a blusher, flat contour, foundation & powder brush. All of which have been added to my makeup wishlist. If you want to buy these brushes Boots currently have them on offer so check them out!

A massive Thankyou to Gemma of This London Life and Real Techniques for these beautiful brushes! It is worth entering those competitions, you never know what you might win!

Have you got these brushes or any others in the collection? Let me know what you think in the comments below or tweet me.
